Why does it matter what time I post?

Well, posting at the best times will help you get more traffic, more engagement, and more followers.

All of this info is subjective and it will sometimes change depending on your audience, location, and content strategy.

Overview:

Post during lunch time and when people get off work.

Use platform native analytic tools to calculate when you should post.

Test, test, and test some more.

Instagram:

Instagram engagement stays pretty much the same throughout the week.

However, on Sunday, engagement dips a little bit, and Monday it rises.

  • Sunday: 4 – 6 pm (worst day to post)
  • Monday: 8 – 9 am (best day to post)
  • Tuesday: 8 – 9 am
  • Wednesday: 8 – 9 am & 5 pm
  • Thursday: 7 am & 4:30 pm (decent day to post)
  • Friday: 8 – 9 am & 8 pm
  • Saturday: 12 – 1 pm

Facebook:

Unfortunately, engagement on Facebook falls on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

But with the weekend coming up, engagement rises on Thursday and Friday.

People are often happier on Friday (duh.), so funny or upbeat content would be perfect.

  • Sunday: 12 – 1 pm
  • Monday: 1 – 4 pm
  • Tuesday: 1 – 4 pm
  • Wednesday: 1 – 4 pm
  • Thursday: 1 – 4 pm (good day to post)
  • Friday: 1 – 4 pm (best day to post)
  • Saturday: 12 – 1 pm

Twitter:

I find that people tend to interact with content on Twitter more during the weekend.

Tweet around noon for link clicks. Tweet at night for retweets and likes.

According to Twitter, they say that users are 181% more likely to use the platform during their commute, and 119% more likely during school and work hours.

  • Sunday: 12 – 1 pm
  • Monday: 12 – 1 pm & 5 – 6 pm
  • Tuesday: 12 – 1 pm & 5 – 6 pm
  • Wednesday: 12 – 1 pm & 5 – 6 pm
  • Thursday: 12 – 1 pm & 5 – 6 pm
  • Friday: 12 – 1 pm & 5 – 6 pm
  • Saturday: 12 – 1 pm
